From Eleanor Pini (Clarinet section):

I havent been to any practices in awhile because I have been at play practices!!

The name of the play is Recent Tragic Events and is presented by UMSL's Department of Theatre, Dance, and Media Studies. You can use the link below to learn more about this play as well as purchase tickets for a performance.

This will be in the Lee Theater at the Touhill and offered March 8, and 13-15, at 8pm each evening. (It was also offered on 3/6 and 3/7, so in case you thought you missed it, you haven't!)

For more information go to: https://touhillpac.umsl.edu/tickets/production.aspx?performanceNumber=2415

From Ron Pettus:

Remember the Great American Brass Band Festival. Joyce and I decided to make the trip this year after missing it for many years. We saw a band that is even more outrageous than AHCB. They are called, “Circle City Sidewalk Stompers”. Go figure. Wayne might also enjoy seeing how the euphonia “marched” in the parade. Talk about style.

We received the following from Bret Ransom..

As you can see by the attached pictures Denise and I caught up with Andrew, Claudia, Patrick and Alex. The Bottlang's have a lovely place in a small village near Constance. They showed us around the area and we even saw Andrew's farm where he grew up as a boy. Plenty of room to blow a trumpet without making the neighbors angry. He is still playing with his village band but not with the Army band any longer. He even gave the big band swing music a try for awhile too. We then went back to there place for a barbeque and then were chased inside by a fairly impressive thunderstorm. After the majory squall line had passed, Denise and I set out on our motorcycle for home. Whenever AHCB members come to visit we will have the Bottlangs over too (after all it's only a 90 minute drive!) That's it for now. By the way we passed the Kranz Hotel just outside of Triberg Germany on our way home today. We stopped to take some pictures but the police ran us off. Apparantly Wolfgang was staying there and was tired of all the paparazzi!!! Cheers, Bret and Denise
..and the following from former member Andrew Bottlang
We had visitors over yesterday, Denise & Bret. We enjoyed a nice day with good conversation. Attached you find some pictures of some old and current AHCB members. Whenever some of you are coming to visit Denise and Bret, it would be nice to meet you as well. all my best wishes, Andrew

We received the following from Bret Ransom:

Denise and I just got back from Bellinzona and are really thinking of the AHCB folks this afternoon. Denise and I took off from Luzern under a cloudy, rainy sky and headed south this morning. We went over St. Gotthard pass where the temperature was 39 degrees and the snow was piled along side of the road up to 20 feet deep in places. Typical June day in Switzerland. Once we cleared the summit we dropped down into the Italian section of Switzerland. The air became warmer and the sun came out against a beautiful blue sky. Denise and I rode into the town of Bellinzona and visited the three castles in the city which date back to 400 a.d. They are strategically situated to repell invaders against attack. Fortunately we did not have a CD or a tape with the song Bellinzona to play on the BMW sound system so we had to settle for a little Mike Vax!!!! The horn is growing dusty as is Denise's clarinet. I guess once the newness of Switzerland wears off, we'll start scouting for a band to play with but right now our days are filled with work and siteseeing. We have a nice apartment with plenty of room for AHCB visitors so please share this note, pictures and invitation!! We miss all of the AHCB gang and look forward to seeing you all in October.

(See Bill if you want Bret and Denise's e-mail address.)

Fat old man with motorcycle.

Look close and you can see Wolfgang!
