Performance at Memorial Day Service

We will be performing at the Memorial Day Service at St. Charles Memorial Gardens, 3950 West Clay, Saint Charles, MO. We will be performing before and after the ceremony (the ceremony is at 2:00 PM), in addition to "Armed Forces Salute" during the ceremony. This performance is a Memorial Day tradition for us. Blue tops preferred; dress for the weather (long pants or shorts as appropriate). Bring stands.
Performance info:
- Show up by 1:30 or earlier (as per conductors request)
- Perform pre-event music 15-20 minutes prior to the 2:00 p.m. service
- Perform Armed Forces Salute within the service
- Perform post-event music immediately following the service
- (We also supply echo taps, but Rene will get that lined up)
Special notes on weather conditions: The services will be held rain-or-shine. We are performing under cover (granted, the effectiveness of the cover is strongly affected by how much wind there is!) It is possible we may be moved indoors. We will receive direction when we arrive. Check Local Conditions to see the current weather as well as forecasts.
Family is welcome to attend. Plan to stay for the whole event (could
be done 3:30-4:30 p.m.) depending upon length of the keynote speaker’s
address and the length of time it takes to read through the the list of names
of veterans being remembered this day.
Dress is light blue shirts or anything not too flashy that shows respect for
veterans and their families.
Bring clips for your music. We will also have a supply available. Chairs
are provided. Bring stands.
Restroom facilities are porta-potties, so plan ahead. We set up on a grassy
area and some of us end up in the sun. You may find insect repellent or
sun-block lotion helpful to have along.
