The After Hours Community Band is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation, incorporated in the State of Missouri.

Our organization is summarized below. You can learn all about it in our Policy Manual and Bylaws.

All positions in the Band are uncompensated. We are all here due to our love of music.

The Band is governed by an Executive Board consisting of members of the Band. Board members are elected every November and all board members serve a one year term which begins in January. The seven Executive Board members are:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Three Members-At-Large

There are also standing committees, whose members are appointed by the Executive Board, and ad hoc committees which are appointed as needed. The Standing Committees are:

  • Conductors Committee
  • Performance Scheduling Committee
  • Membership Committee
  • Website Committee

Section Leaders are selected by the Conductors Committee and are responsible for assigning music and contacting section members when needed.

There are no position chair assignments in the Band. Parts are assigned on a rotating basis. This gives all of our members a chance to "shine" and also maintains a balanced sound.
